Does anyone believe in Soul Mates

I'm wondering how many people believe in Soul Mates, is it something people would like to believe in but sadly lust gets in the way?.

Does modern society kill off this idea at an early age and is it just me that thinks this is a wonderful concept that can be wonderful to believe in, however foolish and unlikely it may be?.

I would put this in Question Time but i think everyone should have a view on this?.

i believe in soul mates. However i dont believe that everyone will meet theirs. If they do, they're very lucky, but your soul mate could live in a place you've never even dreamed of, and u'll never meet them, it doesnt mean they dont exisit, just that you havent been lucky enough to meet them....

    does that make sense?

This is very very true, to meet your soul mate u have to be incredibly lucky to do so.....

I believe in soulmates - though I do not believe there is just "one" - I believe they are dotted around and about . . . just like partners, there's alot which would be the "right" one, but it depends on which one you come across first.

I think "soulmate" is also a subjective term, some people will tend to see their "soulmate" differently to how others see their "soulmate" (if you know what I mean).

I also seperate the perception of soulmate and partner. Ive learnt that lesson.

I think the likelyhood of a soul mate is acutally quite high - for they must be totally into everything you are in every way right? Does it have to be of opposite sex? or just 2 people who totally understand each other in every way.

Maybe, although i like being an individual amungst a variety of friends, it doesnt bother me that much.
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

Thats what I meant by the word "soulmate" being subjective - they can be anything you just mentioned, or none of them barr the last bit - understanding (well, you can leave that bit out if you define soulmate differently!)

I think your soul mate may well not be your lover....it may well turn out to be your best mate......it might be a devotion thing, a relationship thing....

so its not always a sex thing

more or less same here. I dont not believe in soulmates but then ive never found someone afaik who would fit the catagory. perhaps only some people have soulmates (im not saying i dont, but perhaps not everyone does)? they are quite a modern thing because 100 years ago you would probably only ever have met about 100 people in your life, whereas now you meet thousands..
