Hello all
I'm after a portable laptop that is cheap.
Not to fussed about the specs as long as it's nice and portable.
Something like this maybe:

What's your price range?
You could get that same one off eBay refurbished for £300 odd. Worst thing that could probably happen if you get a second hand laptop is the battery is near dead. A new one costs only about £30 though.
You definitely looking to buy new or not fussed?
There's no such thing as cheap AND portable (light). It's one or the other
Home cinema: Toshiba 42XV555DB Full HD LCD | Onkyo TX-SR705 | NAD C352 | Monitor Audio Bronze B2 | Monitor Audio Bronze C | Monitor Audio Bronze BFX | Yamaha NSC120 | BK Monolith sub | Toshiba HD-EP35 HD-DVD | Samsung BD-P1400 BluRay Player | Pioneer DV-575 | Squeezebox3 | Virgin Media V+ Box
PC: Asus P5B | Core2duo 2.13GHz | 2GB DDR2 PC6400 | Inno3d iChill 7900GS | Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1 | 250GB | 500GB | NEC DVDRW | Dual AG Neovo 19"
HTPC: | Core2Duo E6420 2.13GHz | 2GB DDR2 | 250GBx2 | Radeon X1300 | Terratec Aureon 7.1 | Windows MCE 2005
Laptop: 1.5GHz Centrino | 512MB | 60GB | 15" Wide TFT | Wifi | DVDRW
I'm talking tops of £500.
I'm not fussed as long as:
It's small and portable (like a 12-13" screen)
Wifi

Talking 400quid or so with a decent battery, they are small, light, and better than any windows machine But i'm biased
If you want a windows machine then look at the fujitsu lifebooks - they are tiny, very light, and many of the smaller ones have touchscreens which is a nice addon.
Again this is going to be second hand though..can get a decent one on ebay for 300quid witha new battery..
Although if you want brand new then that packard bell would probably do you..
I wouldn't know where to start with a mac...I'll stick to Win XP thanksOriginally Posted by Spud1

Just seen this:
Thoughts? Comes with a free Bodafone 3G data card...

Bodafone, they any good?
Laptop looks good, not sure about the retailer though (haven't heard about them... should Google them, check hexus trust, ciao, etc).
I'd get the double memory if possible. Graphics card won't be much good.. but will be good enough for movies and stuff.
Or theres this if you are near a Tesco Extra: http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=81795
