What a tragic loss. I think I've read every book he has published. He will be missed.
Nightmare, I own every book he's written and the first book in the new Troy trilogy was about the best stuff he's done. The second one is written, just wonder if someone else will write the third as a tribute
I didnt read very much of his myself, but that was more a question of time than taste as what I have read and heard I liked.
I mate of mine is very upset about this. Tragic.

I'm sad to say I've never even heard of him, but he seemed like a good man!
Yeah good books - probably got me into the whole genre when I was younger. Have signed copies of a couple of them still.
Bloody hell. I liked the Drenai series a lot, as well as the Arthurian stuff and Lion of Macedon/Dark Prince. Very sad loss.
Sad news. Has been Dakky's favourite author since I've known him, hence the user names.
Sad day
I own all his books, was looking forwards to the latest Trilogy.

Legend is one of my favourite books, was one of the first fantasy book I read after David Eddings and Michael Moorcocks Elric books. Think Eddings lost his way a bit lately, so was hoping for more from Gemmell.

Agree with you on Eddings.....Gemmell never disappointed me ever, even his average stuff is better than a lot ive read and not much he did was average imo
How sad His stuff always had something there, a big climax that wasn't quite what you expected. I really liked the Rigante ones.
RIP.
