    City link question

When sending back something of high value to an etailer (£150 motherboard for example), is it unreasonable to ask the driver for a receipt? more importantly, should they write one out for you?

I say they should, but the awkward git that just came to collect says otherwise.

    any ideas?

Really you should get a receipt *but* it's not really the driver's fault if he hasn't been given one. Best to call the end company you're dealing with and let them know that the thing's been collected today at such and such a time.

the driver says that "you dont need a receipt, its all on the computer", "we dont give receipts, its too complicated", however, when i asked him if he knew where the parcel was going to, he said, "yeah, of course i do, its watford electronics, it says it there, look", the only snag there was that the parcel wasnt going to watford electronics, it was going to micro direct, and had i let him take it without a receipt, watford electronics would have had my motherboard (with no record of where it had come from, just a micro direct rma number), and i would be out of pocket, with no proof of where it had gone.

so, does anyone know about the receipt thing?

Last time I RMA'd something via citylink I got a receipt, but this was nearly a year ago now, Maybe they changed their policy?

Personally when handed over anything valuable to anyone I like a receipt. I have forced a guy to write one on paper himself before.
