    eBay suspension

A pal has been suspended from eBay for shill bidding which is where people work with the seller to push the price of an item up. This is complete utter pants and eBay are ignoring emails sent asking them to justify their decision. Currently he's thinking about going to the small claims court to at least get his fees back but the point is that his account with loads of excellent feedback has been suspended and he's lost lots of cash due to his auction being pulled. Does anyone have any advice?

    TIA

Erm if he was shill building he deserves to get suspended, read the ebay t&c's.

The small claims court would laugh him out of court.

Normally they let you appeal it after 7 days. (assuming it's his first offence)

That's definitely what's happened here. I can asure you beyond all doubt that my pal was not shill bidding. It's trying to get in touch with eBay to find out what the score is that causing problems.

Thanks for the info about appealling. I'll get him to look into it.

From experience all you'll get is a standard reply with ebay. They just give you the same line, it's the rules and there is nothing they can do. If the account has been suspended permanently he may just have to create a new one.

Maybe he could get the bidders to write to ebay and try and convince them they were genuine bidders. How they can prove they were genuine I don't know. But I doubt ebay will do much, just give your mate the generic reply to his emails.

lol, tell me about it. The replies were always from the a different name but the answer was always, "I have read your questions" and then the answer was an exact copy of the previous reply. But by now this was my 3rd or 4th email to ebay saying the previous replies
    didn't answer my question.

Do they even read your question? You wait 2 days for a reply and it's the same as before,.

Just an update. It seems that eBay suspended the account in error. Prats. Because of this a my pal lost out on an auction that had bids upto £320 with three days to go. He's not happy....
    Thanks for the help folks.

You are sent a bill type email anyway.

Like, you list things, it adds up in your eBay account, THEN once a month you are sent an email asking for the money (which is usually automatically deducted from your PayPal account).

So just close your PayPal account and freeze your bank account, then they can't take anything out.

Yeah u cannot do that its unfair to shill i sell alot on ebay and have never done this. I think that you deserve to be suspended for doing this because people who do not do this like me are losing out. Also i know that ebay is full of people who scam and that they are not doing enough to put an end to this, but most of the time if you get scammed its your fault because the scams are easy to spot. If people were not so greedy on both sides we would not have a problem

Can you read? Cause it doesn't seem you can. Once you've got past Spot the Dog try rereading my original posting. There's not that many big words in it. Then perhaps you can post something relevant.
