Just curious if anyone from here went to the fantastic Big Chill this year.
What did you see and what were your highights etc....
Have to say that Arrested Development, Coldcut, Tuung and the set by Kieran Hebden and Steve Reid were definitely my favs.
Coldcut were great as always. Gutted i missed Arrested Devlopment though.
The two most special moments for me had to be the The Heritage Orchestra feat. Deodato; they were just simply amazing. Rodrigo Y Gabriela were sweet too, i will definiatly have to track down some of thier music. Thats the great thing about the Big Chill, you dicover so much new music.
Big let downs for me were Bent. I loved their albums, but they have really lost the plot now by the looks. AIM were not very good either, started good then went into some kind of terrible rock rubbish - they murdered The Girl That Fell Through The Ice which used to be a beautiful song. Also, WTF was that **** band Sparks all about?!
Overall a great time though, somethings were better than last year, other thing were better the year before. It's going to take some time for my head to feel right though

I thought the same about Aim - what was that rock stuff about....i wasn't too impressed with the vocalist either. Just thank god that they played Cold Water Music.
Also a little bit annoyed they put Village Green smack bang next to the Media Mix but I spose it was bigger than previous years so they had to accomodate that
You listened to the new coldcut album - sound mirrors?

16.5 hours solid sleep when we got home
They made a few big mistakes with the stage arangement, we went to see one act on the Village green stage but it was completely drowned out by the club tent.
Did you go to the arts trail? It was actually quite a good laugh last year, so we thought we would make our last thing to do this year again. 20 of us went up the hill to it at 5am monday morning completely spooned expecting a bit of a giggle, if only to take the piss at everything, but ended up being very disapointed, it was completely rubish and there was hardly anything there
Looking forward to next year already, just hope it does not get any bigger though. Last year seemed fine, this year they were pushing it a bit.
Don't rub it in Guys!!! Was supposed to be going, but my wifes Boss dropped a clanger and went away on Holiday leaving her on her own. So she couldn't get the time off!

yeh, went on the arts trail but guess it was smaller cos they had a sanctuary stage this year rather than a tent and it had to go somewhere.
I don't remember much of it apart from lying under a glowing green tree that was making some very strange noises

Did you by chance see a small inflatable monkey on a stick?
no fraid not...we were on the right of the pathway leading up to the toilets
