i was always one to say "Circumcision...it's no skin of my nose" but maybe it's a worthy thing after all.
Of course, a condom and some good education also would help!

They might not catch AIDS, but theres other nasty things that they could also get ranging from warts to chlamidya, plus there's the fact they could end up fathering a child as well.
What they really need to do is improve education about things like these diseases, rather than reporting about a possible 60% lesser chance of catching AIDS due to having no foreskin.
well said Lee...it's one thing i'm not getting done though..could do without a month of pain and anguish..i'll stick to more civilised methods of protection![]()
FYI this has been acknowledged in studies of African men in high risk societies where circumcision is practiced some 5 or so years ago.
A few years back I went travelling in Thailand and ended up on a tour of the north doing a bit of trekking and what not. Anyway our guide told us a story, which I have no reason to beleive is untrue.
He talked of a government or some charity going into the north and teaching people how to use condoms. The teacher was using a coke bottle to demonstrate how to put one on and all seemed to be going well. So he left a load of condoms with these hill people. A year later the teacher returned to this village only to be confronted by angry locals. There were now more newly born children in the village and the villagers were unhappy that this new fandangled device did not stop their women folk falling pregnant.
So the aid worker asked them how they had been using the condoms only to have the locals reply just like you showed us.
Apparantly each man had been taking out a condom, stretching it over a coke bottle and putting it by the side of the bed then getting down to business as usual!
So a little knowledge is not necessarily a good thing, you need to have the wider picture to understand fully.

Circumsion at birth is the way to go, i had mine done at 3 days old due to problems my father had, hence no pain. My mate had it done at 19 and apparently it looked (and felt) like it had been run over by a car.
My advice to anyone considering this as an easy way to reduce the risk of HIV is: get real, if you are going paddling, wear your wellies!
EVERYONE MUST practice safe sex, there are no ifs or buts, STI's are serious business and many will make you infertile. Some can have NO symptoms and some can KILL you or significantly affect the rest of you life. ie Herpes and hepatitis! Be warned!
