Crest Complete. Has all the bases covered (triclosan, decent amounts of NaF)
i am using beverly hills formula natural white total protection i know it sounds corny but its really good! i used to use pearl drops advanced whitening its about £5 a bottle but this beverly hills one is just as good if not better!
see i read that the whitening toothpastes can be quite damaging if used all the time, how much is the BHills tube?
I use Colgate.. it's ok, doesn't give me teeth like Richard Hammond though :(
We've also got this random 100% arabic stuff.. don't know how it is, I don't think I dare try it.
Colgate Total stripey stuff. I hate the initial taste of using a different tooth paste
I'm still kinda fond of Aquafresh cause as a kid I used to love the 'not just a pretty paste' adverts.
However I use whatever Tesco have on the buy one get one free offer. :p
aquafresh - just because i love the fact they brought there old advert back ITS AMAZING
other than that its Colgate (its ALWAYS on offer at Tesco's :) )
arm and hammer whitening....works well and doesnt leave that weird tast in your mouth and doesnt make your teeth feel like they have been sanded.
arm and hammer here too. obviousy the king of toothpastes
A friend of mine is studying dentistry, and sensodyne is supposedly one of the best toothpastes out there she has told me. I'm happy with it and have been using it for ages now.
its less than £2 a tube anywhere and unlike most whitening pastes it does claim to be low abrasion!Quote:

as for mouthwash listerine does the job once in a while.
I find Listerine useful if your in a big rush in the morning and don't have time to brush your teeth!
I've a really pronounced gag reflex so I have to use little or low foaming toothpastes. Normally, I use Crest Complete (mild fresh) though on holiday I bring a small tube of Crest "whitening expressions" Fresh Citrus Breeze flavour. Nice orangy taste.
I think the toothbrush is more important, hence a Sonicare 7800. Marked difference to other powerbrushes, let alone manual.
i can only seem to use Macleans.... all the others i have tried give me ulcers, which is very strange as you would expect them to basically use the same ingredients.
I use what ever dear old mum picks up - usually colgate or aquafresh tho :)
I use Sensodyne since I used to get loads of ulcers and my mum mentioned it to a dentist who said "a lot of people are allergic to Sodium Laurel Suphate and don't realise it", so I looked for one without it and haven't had a problem since.
Arm & Hammer ftw! \o/
Aquafresh just because it comes in that weird tube thing with a button on top.
/me is easily amused.
Aquafresh, because its in the bathroom when I go in there.
beverley hills, but as stated above I think the toothbrush can make a big difference **saves pennies for sonicare**
Whatever's on 2for1 at Tesco to be honest.
And yes, Sonicare is God of toothbrushes  Some 4 or 5 years ago I'd let my teeth get into an absolutely shameful state, my upper and lower molars were rotting and some of my front ones too :embarrassed: After a good few months of dental work by an excellent specialist I had a fully functioning and healthy set of gnashers again, albeit missing 6 of them and a couple of screwins.
The only thing left to address was my gums which weren't in very good shape so on my dentists advice I invested in a Sonicare. I'd had electric toothbrushes before even expensive ones but Christ almighty the difference is amazing. Very odd to get used to at first but you soon get on with it. Within a month of using it my gums were restored to full health and my dental checkups were all thumbs up from then on.
I seriously can't use a normal toothbrush now, it just feels like shoving a sponge round my gob and it just doesn't feel clean. Doesn't matter what toothpaste I use with the Sonicare really, all does the same job for me. Although I have to say that using whitening toothpaste with a Sonicare can be a bit 'full-on' for the gleaming mush effect
might have to take a look at sonicare brushes then, i always jigured they were just marketing hype.
Toothpaste - i normally just go for whatever is on offer, but usually pick the whitening type if there is a choice. Same with brushes.
A lot of my family (mum and her sisters) are fans of Euthymol. can't stand the stuff personally

yes i think i will have to invest in a sonicare!
i did try a tube of blanx from boots it was about £10 and was a pile of poo!
i might just go crazy go nuts this weekend and try one i have never found before
i do use a sonicare and it does cost a penny but i think its worth it, normally i try and wait for a deal on the heads though as they are not cheap either.
Aye that's it's one prohibitive factor other than the initial cost, the heads aint cheap.
I always buy ours off eBay though tbh, usually pick up a pair of heads for about 10-15 quid. We religiously replace ours every 6 months, you can really notice the difference between a worn head and a fresh one.
I've got the Oral-b Sonic Complete. Awesome toothbrush. I've had several Oral-b electric toothbrushes but this thing is absolutely so much better than the non-sonic ones (I've got no experience of the Philips ones). It even has tongue cleaning and gum massaging modes!
And Oral-b don't stiff you on the cost of the replacement heads unlike Philips...£25 for for 2?!?!? (at Boots) Laughable really.
W.
cheap tesco stuff. good reminder i need a new toothbrush
Aquafresh for me. So how often do you guys clean your teeth? I clean my teeth everytime I eat something so I always carry a tooth brush with me whenever I go out.
hmm i think thats a tad excessive, and you could possibly be doing more damage by brushing your teeth so much, especially if the toothpaste you use is quite abrasive. 2 times a day for me. when i wake and before i goto bed
I use whatever colgate stuff is on offer that appears to be in the pot in the bathroom, however it seems to vary EVERY time, especially recently, and some of the stuff is awful. I use a manual Reach toothbrush but may invest in a Sonicare soon.
I brush my teeth usually 3 times a day, once when I get in as I like the feeling of clean teeth as well as once in the morning and the evening :)
You won't damage your teeth overbrushing (only the strongest of whitening pastes is actually abrasive), but you can damage gums which makes them receed - no permenant damage as long as you take it soft for a while.
Well I was doing some reading and apparently you can damage the enamel on your teeth if you brush too much and also if you brush too hard. But thats only what I read.
I'm always getting different ones
But a favourite is coltage total whitening (Blue tube)
Pearl drops,
although i do have some of that kids bubblegum tasty stuff.
I use macleans whitening and dentyl ph as a mouth wash.
