Can anyone confirm what day it is on?
My school didn't tell me or any other students, but in a College letter I got I have been told it is on the 23rd... but everywhere else seems to be saying it is on the 24th.
So when is it?

I'm not really in a position to say, but from what i've been hearing, they come out on the 24th.
I wouldn't put too much faith in what i've said though, thats just what i've read from some places.
24th, this Thursday!
yeah thays what ive heard aswell, good luck people!
Yup, thurs - a week after the A-Level results came out :)
OK, seems like it is the 24th.
Thanks everyone.
If I'm not very much mistaken, results are always on a Thursday for some reason.
Yeah week after A level, which would be Thursday the 24th.
So, whos nervous about recieving their results?
I most certainly am!
Aslong as i get C's in English and Maths though, i will be happy enough :D
I'm the same as you LuNi9. As long as I get a C or better in Maths and English.. and another two grades with a C or better, then I'm happy! (it's what I need to get into college).
Good luck to you both :)
Same here, well sorta, i need 5 C's to get into 6th Form(college). But i need a C in English + Maths to be able to do what i want in 6th form (Buisness Stuides + ICT)Quote:

Anyways, good luck again you guys.
I'm getting a little nervous about the GCSEs too. Still, good luck to everyone. :)
Hey, you never know, with OCR's loss of exam-scripts, you might get a nice approximated grade. ;)
one can hope.Quote:

i kno i ll get atleast 4 A-c's it's just that... my ict teacher ruined my ICT Apllied grade big time... i constanly asked her 4 help... she blanked me ffs! and how stupid will it look getting a E in that and trying to get into a ICT Btec national course :(
I wouldn't worry, you don't even need an ICT gcse to get into the course.Quote:

I'm not that bothered anyway, as I said before, as long as I get the grades I need to get into College I'm happy.

Luckily I dont have to worry about exams for a few years, because the next 2 years I do at college are all coursework :D Only when I do the degree level in 3 years time will I have to worry about results.
Good luck everyone tomorrow!
God I hope I get the grades I need, starting to get nervous now! *fingers crossed*

Good luck all
I was ill and absent for 14 months of the Gcse courses and came back fo the last bit in a way that there was nothing really i could do to get all the materials or anything for my coursework. I dropped music and german and ended up being idle annoying my mates in the classes where they were working. In English i was told that if i had no coursework that i would not be entered for the exam, they did anyway and then on that morning (when i planned to lay in) i was told (by my sister not the school) that if i wanted to retake at college then i would have to sit and fail the exam so i decided to do it anyway (im terrible at sitting still in silence).
Today i found i had a C for Maths a pass in IT (3 units were marked as 'Unclassified' and one a merit and i passed) and d's for both Science's, Geography and i even got a D for English! I passed without any coursework for it i seriously screwed the system over so i can now laugh at them so i am overall very pleased!
(Copied into this thread too):
English: C (Messed up on one bit of coursework, and a part of the exam, so I'm happy with that).
English Lit: D (Load of bollocks anyway )
Maths: C (Always been crap at maths so I'm happy with that)
Science Double Award: CC (doing foundation so it's the highest I could get anyway)
ICT: D (WTF?!?!, this is the only result I don't understand, I am extremly confused. I was expecting at least an A. It must of been something very dodgy gone wrong with my coursework :S)
@ EllTheGamer: Yeah. I was away for 98% of Year 10.. I had home tutition so that sort of buggered my coursework and stuff up.. so I redid some parts of it at school. For example, I got an E for a piece of coursework with my home tutor, but when I went back to school, I redid it and I got a B (only took about an hours worth of doing too).
I had major headaches to the point where i could not concentrate on anything. I could not read anything, go on pc (much) or watch tv i had to just listen to things and i kinda lost my good memory but thats coming back now by the time i was healthy enough to get back into things i could not learn enough to back into the coursework to get my grade back to what they should be.
Got my gcse results today and i am over the moon with it!!!

Thanks!
Classical Civilisation is basically learning about Roman and Greek history, without learning Latin etc. In effect, you learn about the culture, religion and in-depth on Spartans and several other things in a modular form. :)
Well done to everyone, most did better than i did a year ago.
Shame that they become pretty much worthless once you go into 6th form. I can't even remember what i got for the majority of my exams. All that mattered was i got B or higher in my 4 subjects and a C and B in english
Its been a few years since i did exams and I see there is a lot of slating regarding ICT teachers here, I have to agree with all of you that feel that ICT teachers arent very helpful at all. I often got the feeling that some of these ICT staff are actually clueless when it comes to IT.
and by the way good luck to all who got there gcse's today!
I've found IT teachers to be, on the whole, pretty useless, and it seems that the A-level isn't held in particularly high esteem either by universities.
I actually took an IT GNVQ hoping that I would get to learn things such has html and php but after I had taken the course I found that none of this was on the agenda, What kind of things do you learn in IT now? In some cases I found that I actually knew more than the teacher did, as we were told to create a website using frontpage there was no mention of any coding so I took took it upon myself to learn in my own free time to make an even better website than I was expected to.
You get to learn how to use M$ Word, M$ Powerpoint, M$ Access and M$ Frontpage pretty much.......
At the time you were supposed to do the website I had home tutition, so of course I wrote it all in notepad (HTML) as it didn't say I needed to use bloody frontpage.. I did as they specified. Obviously didn't like what I did though.
