    Would be cheaper to ship machines without batteries, knowing dell it's entirely possible

    at least dell are being public with their recall. the same sony-made batteries are used in a number of brands, including apple (who have suffered a number of explosions too)

    Potentially dangerous. Pretty harmless when made properly and kept is reasonable conditions.

    They should bundle UNIX fire extinguishers (as taken from my tutor's website... the man is a true legend).
