Pretty much explained it all in the title. Just been listening to the Bat Out of Hell album for the first time in years and I'm actually really loving it!!! I'm normally into punk/rock music like The Clash, QOTSA, New York Dolls etc so I have kind of surprised myself here.

Whilst he is very talented singer (and yes, I am a fan), I think much of the genius behind Bat Out of Hell was down to Jim Steinman. The proof in the pudding will be the Bat Out of Hell 3 album, since the two are no longer on speaking terms.

While theres no doubting Meatloafs talent as a singer/performer the talent in Bat out of Hell lies in the song writing and as such have not voted in the poll as genius is streatching it a bit.
/me remembers fondly.... that it was the only album of that type/genre that my dad really used to like.

it looks like the Meat Loaf love is strong here :) However, it would appear that some people believe genius is a bit strong, so how do i add another option to the poll for 'yeah he's good.......much better than 50 Cent'.
I do understand that this option is a bit misleading as my ability to tie up my own shoes shows more talend than pretty much all gansta rappers combined, so you are basically agreeing that MeatLoaf has more talent than me........ However just having an option saying 'he's good but not a genius' is not a poll that i would want to be responsible for. In fact I would not want to live in a world where such a poll option existed.......I rest my case :embarrassed:

As much as I dislike 50cent (well just hip-hop and rnb in general, although im sure he is good at what he does? :shocked2: ) you cant really compare the likes of meat loaf and 50 cent as they are two completely different genres. I myself dislike meatloaf, possibly because its way before my time and more than likely because im into electronic music of all descriptions.Quote:

well in my opinion you can and it's my topic so I make the rules :).......50 cent is a mumbling fool, Meat Loaf is not. Going slightly off topic here, can anyone see the attraction of rap when all they sing about is capping some dude for dissing/disrespecting them, going on about their bling and money or just 'singing' about hoes? I know not all rap is like this, but most of what you hear in the charts and on the radio is. Having now said all of this i do like the Beastie Boys and Dizzie Rascal, so i'm not a rapper hater, I just hate the disrespecting, hoe bashing, bling-meisters ones

Well i dont know what you class as good and what you class as bad when it comes to rap, this is why i put a question mark next to "although im sure he is good?" I myself cant stand rap.
