I ain't no old man, but look for a piece called "Le Onde" its rather awesome
"If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much room!"
- me, 2005
Most of Coldplays stuff is pretty simple and effective
I have no idea what you could play but just thought I'd add that I've always wished I could play the piano, it's such a beautiful instrument.
Maybe someday I'll take the time to learn it.
the original moonlight sonata is grade 6 on piano i think, as its in C# minor :\
if your a real beginner, then try a beginners piano book, you need to get ur hands working together before you move onto the harder stuff!
if your already a brilliant pianist, then try fantasie impromptu by chopin or toccata and fugue by bach. If you're after something more upbeat, try muse. Coldplay stuff is all just suicide drivel. Muse actually involves some skill at the piano
I've tried Fantasy Impromptu but I just can't get the the whole 3 in one hand and four in the other, even the though the piece itself isn't THAT hard to play. As for the Moonlight Sonata, I learned that a few years ago and I still like to play it now, it never gets old as the more you play it the more expressive it becomes.

I got the wrong idea
Huge Pianist....
My Mrs is super-grade 8 or however it works, but she can only play 'Moonlight Sonata' in total irony after watching MC Hammer play a cultured gangster in this movie:

Brian Bosworth FTW!!!!
I can play it on bass guitar.Originally Posted by htid

I can play the mario theme tune.. it's quite a nice piece to amaze people with Game music is readily available for free, as third party arrangements, and often sounds quite nice.
I suppose we should start with your musical competence - if you tried Fantasy Impromptu then i assume you must be pretty good.. O.o
If you're really uber then you could learn the 3rd movement of moonlight sonata.. tis a biatch to learn (the presto bit..) but sounds amazing when up to speed.. btw.. when people say moonlight sonata, are you talking about the first movement or the whole thing - cos the first bit is fairly easy, it gets difficult when you get to the 2nd and 3rd bits. http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~chengji1...Movement-b.mp3 ^^
Le Onde is a very nice piece to play.. just look for anything by Ludovico Einaudi really
Could anyone give me some advice on some pieces to learn? i can probably learn most stuff up to about grade 8, but i need some suggestions for impressive pieces..
The piece I'd REALLY like to play is hungarian rhapsody no.2 in c sharp by liszt but i have a feeling its beyond me (I'm only 16).
