    Village Broadband

I live in a fairly large village of about 3000+ people, but BT refused until some point at the end of last month to set a trigger level, it was deemed unfeasible (not cost effective for them)

It seems that we've now got 500 people to hit out target level,
We where at 240 odd when i last looked and i read the local new paper (village level 10 pages or so) and found an article showing we'd hit the 500 level?!?!? - i thought what the hell since when.

I've just checked the registration details...
    adslguide
for our exchange and erm well some idiot has registered how many times?.

I bet that number will come back to about 51% again when BT investigate the pre-registration details.

Anyone else had this happen when there exchange got upgraded?.

    Thanks

I thought you could only register once from one phoneline?

My brother has been waiting for BB for years as well. His current trigger level is 300 and they are around 130 so far, I know he's tried to register interest more than once but it does not let him.

i'd just register 750000 to 754000 which are the numbers in the village till i'd done enough

But then i know BT check the registrations and i'm not holding my hopes up, especially with the graph i put in the above post.

We were deemed unviable for 2 years With 232 registrations.... Got an email one night from some ISP saying "congrats you can now get BB in your area" and I thought someone was ripping the piss outta me till I checked...

Seems the "piggybacking" technology enabled us to be joined onto the next village exchnage and our trigger limit went from none to 150 so we triggered immediately and I had BB installed on the 29th Oct this year, the exact date it went live....

Seriously can't you get a Sat BB then distribute over a wireless LAN?

My friend dows that where he is, he does know his neighbours very well though.

our village has set up a broadband campaign thing now, we've got 101 registered and need 250 .. i figure after all the leaflets have gone through the doors the amoutn should go up.

I tried registering but BT seem to have lost the page that lets our exchange register - grr.

    BT are fine TBH.

I am with BT Openworld and the speeds are good. Whenever I do the speed test on ADSL Guide my results are always WAY higher than the ISP at rank 1 in their monthly test..... So why is BT not #1 ??

Prolly cause its an average so a lot of ppl are getting crappier results but my own results are always higher than the top ISP there.

They've just reduced the trigger level on my Exchange to 100 and 22 people have so far registered interest... not bad!!! can i just register other people's numbers for them and get to the trigger level or is that illegal or something.
