Umm.. 23rd James Zabiela is at Urban Gorilla.
[e!] no he's not, he's on the 29th...
A usual night out is... West Street for all the bars... then onto a club ala:
Varsity (cheap & cheerful)
Chavendish (cheap & cheerful, opposite Varsity)
Bia Hoi (personal favourite)
Halcyon
Common Room
Crystal (personal favourite)
DQ (personal favourite, out of the way a tiny little bit but good late bar)
Depending on the final destination (club), I usually leave them to it at the last bar
You have the choice of four mainstreamish clubs:
- Plug (Never been) (CJ Mackintosh on the 23rd - House)
- GatecrasherOne (Main Room: Cheese, RnB, Crap Dance - Lobby: Full on crap RnB - Electrobox: House)
- Leadmill (General Drunken Music, Indie) (23rd: The Delays - Club as normal from about 11pm)
- Kingdom (Pure crap)
And a couple of late (2-3pm) bars such as Takapuna, DQ
My favourite when I'm in the 'drinking/drunken' mood is Leadmill, but as a pretty snobbish clubber, I usually only goto Urban Gorilla as I dont do the 'cheese'
There's a couple of gay clubs if thats your thing
And Niche if you fancy getting shot.
Plenty of photo's on my site from the various locations.

Does anyone know if gatecrasher.one is open every saturday night?
it is, but its pants. it's got nothing on the Republic.
cheese, rnb, 80's, 90s, cheesy dance.
that is providing Hed Kandi isn't on... in which case be prepared to pay £15 entry for 6/8 hours of handbag house.
think we will see where everyone else is going when we get there, the plug looks like it may be a good bet.
thanks
Plug, GC1 and Leadmill are all 2 mins from each other. So you have the choice.
Dont let the droves of people heading towards GC1 influence your decision. Most of them will be 16, wannabe gangsters or 10bob millionaires.
A friends band is supporting the Delays at the Leadmill that night called My Luminaries. Heres their myspace account:

I'm personally not keen on the Delays, but My Luminaries are worth seeing. Have a click above and tell me what you think of them!
I like trance yeah (aslong as it isnt pure cheese) I also like house, funky house, the occasional bit of drum n bass, cant stand RNB, HIPHOP or any gangsta form of music.
Yep, but its reopened where Uropa was, Old Limit, next to Fuel (the gay club) (!!)Originally Posted by htid
It's very naff (imo) and it play's cheesy trance. Clubland compilation stylee.Originally Posted by htid
Musically, You've probably picked the wrong day to come up. Friday's @ DQ is Breaks, Prog/Techy House by the Urban Gorilla lot. Saturdays is usually Urban Gorilla main night, its bi weekly, and your coming up on the off week. The following week is the GOD that is James Zabiela.Originally Posted by mart_haj86
Saturdays at GC1 used to be Crasher, that died on its arse, now it makes reappearences on bank holidays.
Hed Kandi is something stupid like the 3rd saturday of the 3rd month in the 3rd leap year. (rare)
However, if you're just out for some drinks, I'd bar it as long as possible then maybe dip in a club. Club of choice would be Leadmill or Plug, these have the least amount of Gangster wannabe's.
Just thought, The Room (fka Fez) and Pravda (fka Sutra) might make for an interesting night. Only ever been to these for UG.

Cheers for the advice, unfortuantely the saturday is the only day we can come up. So i think we will bar it till as long as possible and follow the crowds which looks less chavvy lol
