    Commodore 64 foils police investigation

An Austrian kidnapper recently foxed police by storing his data on this sophisticated machine. In other news, John Reid recently announced that ownership of a computer older than 5 years would be made illegal without a thorough background check.

OMG! But believe it or not, there is a site out there (forgot the link) hosted on a C64 with a homebrew ethernet interface!

Have you got a link to that story cos that is hilarious. There is no way in hell they could ever enforce that so I doubt it's true but then again New Labour can't resist spouting crap if it makes 'em look tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime /sigh.

I think that sentance was supposed to be a joke. It made me giggle anyway

In other news, the "humour" gene has been located, turns out to looks like a balloon.

Sadly it's not true. We should start a petition to demand it. Everyone knows that Al-Quaeda's global terror database runs on a ZX Spectrum.

oh dear. I had to type a page of code to get the thing to beep. How much typing do you think he did to store any info, and did he use a tape to record it onto? otherwise it could be lost forever

That's nothing. There was a site on the web powered by a potato (it's true).

The sad fact is that I wouldn't put it past New Labour to pull such a stunt so a smilie or a wink might have been useful for those of us that lack the humour gene.

I wonder if we would have thought it a joke if New Labour had proposed a child database or had a department that stopped local councillors, for ethical reasons, from voting on Park and Ride schemes because they own a car. Oh wait silly me they already have, must have missed that joke too.

Anyway back on topic. This reminds me of the BBC micro and it's laser disk that had the doomsday project on it. It is so obselete that only one machine survived capable of playing the discs and that was broken! So it's advisable for any terrorist to store their Jihad matyr message and any bomb making plans on a foot wide laser video disk.

Incidentally I wonder how many 10 year olds would know how what a record is.

I recently upgraded my potatoes to lemons, modded them with UV lights and they look cool in the dark! Totally silent too! And they can handle a higher peak current!

Lol! Shame that the spud server has now been replaced by the single aaa battery server (webmaster got fed up with throwing out rotting spuds apparently!) As ever Agent, linkage of the best quality! Thx mate!
