    Repairing a broken nose?

I'm due to have my broken nose re-set in the morning, and am wondering if anyone knows what the actual procedure entails? I'm just curious, as I've got to go under general anaesthetic.

I had my nose broken in Ibiza this year after some drunken messing about in the sea, luckily mine isnt crooked.. well not too bad anyway. Ive decided to leave as is. When yours broke was it gushing with blood like it would never stop?

i broke mine when i was about 6 ( the normal kid thing and thought i could fly lol) you can only tell on me if you look from the side from the front it looks normal,
it does get to me when people start talking about noses as i then become aware of mine but its never really bothered me tbh apart from that lol
(if people only like you for shear looks there sad sad people)

tbh i think they will re-break it and then set it again and you'll have to walk round with a white thing across your face for like 6 weeks or something like that

mart_haj86 i can remember mine pouring with blood my mum thought i was gonna die with the amount of blood i lost
Kitty cat meoWWWW......ill take that kiss now...

The surgeon usually refractures the bone with a chisel then shifts them into a more natural alignment. You wake up with a splint on your nose.

Do a search for rhinoplasty and you'll find a load of plastic surguery websites catering for prospective patients, heh. But they often carry useful patient info.

    Repost of the thread here:

So I played football after work, and this is what I ended up with:

I went for a header, and a crazy yugoslav guy I work with decided it would be a good idea to try to kick the ball. I got there first . Gotta wait until thursday to have it reset.

Should I have local or general anaesthetic?
Here's what I look like today:

I don't know if my nose will ever be normal again, but it seems to be a clean break just below the bridge.
