bloody hell and i trusted my 600 pound landrover mountain bike with 1 of those in mansfield town centreOriginally Posted by smelly
not only that it looks just as easy to open it with the biro as with the key
Yup, thats been around for a while
I only trust my bike under the lock & key of a sold secure lockespecially as it has quick release wheels :/
You used to be able to pull a similar trick with kensington laptop locks, and most front door locks will open using the same principle. Scary.
Does anybody know if bump keying has been a mainstream news item here like it has in germany?
rock on kryptonite cable lock
My god! Glad my Stumpjumper (Nice bike prop4!!) is in Spain!
Is it just the ones with the locks on the base of the shackle like in the vids?? Or is it the ones with the lock on the end too?
Beer is life, life is good!
i think its only cryptonite locks. about a year old, i think kryptonite will replace any lock you have
hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..
they will yeh and if you can prove it got stolen through one of the locks they supply they give you alot of cash lol,
How the hell are you gonna do that??????
"Honestly, my bike was gone and my bike lock was just laying there open, I locked it, I promise!!!"
lol!![]()

Bump keying will work on quite a lot of locks, not always with a biro though. My advice is unless the manufacturer confirms in wiritng that their lock is resistant to bumpkeying you should view it as vulnerable. Sold secure have such an assurance on their website.
its nice to know you can do kensington locks in a simlar way. ive got my laptop connected to my desk and noone knows where the keys are.
ill give it a go this afternoon
lol ^^
