Hi all, just wondering whether any of you have used a company called skillstrain for training and courses in IT im either looking at doing something such as a Cisco Certification or possibly programming not too sure yet. I have arranged for one of they're guys to come round my house tomorrow to discuss things and see which course is best for me. The website is http://www.skillstrain.co.uk .If any of you have had any first hand experience with them then could you let me know what to expect from them. thanks

I think it is a giveaway about the company that the adverts are on at the same time as all the 'personal injury lawyers' and 'unimployed? CCJs? Loans Companies'

must proof read before posting, lets try that again...

I think SkillsTrain is going to be featured on a bbc program called "London inside out". I think that is what the program is called, it's presented by Suggs on Mondays at 7.

I think it's a report on how they rip people off.

    Re: skillstrain

    Steer well clear of skillstrain.

I went with them and now I am struggling to get my money back.
They came to my house, signed me up for one course and sent me another.

Now I have them claiming all kinds of stuff like I owe them £2,700.. Yeah like hell do I!

i enroles with skillstrain in 10/2008 and i was told that the full amount of this course is 3225.GBP and i can pay monthly instalments which are 75 pounds a month.
i have stopped studying at all since 7 months and the money was still going out from my bank account but things are getting very tight and i eventually decided to cancel the whole course.
i called skilltrain and ask them to cancel it but they refused and advised me to contact the CDF to change or reduce my payment plan and her second advise was that you can transfer the course to someone else's name but the credit agreement will be still on your name and you can keep taking the money from your friend and like this you can cover your amount as well as your credit amount also and her thired option was that you can change your course if you dont like this course and i ask her that do you have any course which is under 1000 pound but she said no and even if you change your course you still have to pay the same outstanding balance so i said there is no point to change the course and it dosen't make sense for me to even transfer the course to any one else's name and i decided to contact with CDF and i explained my situation but the answer was same and she said to me that nothing to do with us werher you studying or not but we have paid the full amount to the skillstrailn and you are legally bound with us so you have to pay anyway otherwise you should seek for independent advise.
EVERY BODY PLEASE GET MY POINT NOW!
Q? i ask from that rude lady who work for CDF. that are you independent finance company or you related to the skills train only or providing loans to other institutions also?
ANS: yes we do provide loand to diffrent colleges also.
Q? could you please let me know about any of other college?
ANS: this is not your problem and is not related to you quary.
and the most funniest thing is here that it was the same lady who was talking to me on the phone from skills train and i was very astonished and then i called back to skillstrain college same time and one diffrent lady got very angree with me when i gave her my enrolement reference number and she said to me without listening me that just now my coleague explained you about the options you have then why do you want us to put you hold on the phone?
i said thank you madam and could i please ask you that is there any other college in UK except you to whom CDF is providing finance like yours?
she said this is not your problem.
    CONCLUSION:SKILLSTRAIN ADDRESS as follows:

    56 collington street, Luton

I HOPE EVERY ONE UNDERSTAND THE TRICK HERE.

    Re: skillstrain

First and foremost I can appreciate it's not a good position to be in owing a lot of money and not being able to get out of it.

That said, surely you decided to purchase a course at a set figure? They broke down how much the course was, and how much the monthly payments were. They are providing you with that course and you are paying for the course. Not sure you can just cancel if you agreed to pay for the entire of the course?

You wouldn't expect to just be able to do this without penalty with say for example a mobile phone?

    Could someone explain the difference?

I too have had a horrendous experience with this company, stay clear! If you want an education go to college, night school, Uni, buy the study books from a shop! Seriously its not worth the headache!

Leave a dead thread that way. If you have a point, please elucidate in a fresh thread.
