    Question Expired Domain

While searching for a domain name the one I would like is taken. However the WHOIS provided the following information.

    Registrant's agent:
    Namesco Limited [Tag = NAMESCO]
    URL: http://www.names.co.uk

    Relevant dates:
    Registered on: 09-Jul-2002
    Renewal date: 09-Jul-2006
    Last updated: 07-Sep-2005

    Registration status:
    Renewal required.
*** This registration has been SUSPENDED. ***

If the current holder forgets/doesn't re-new their subscription how soon can I apply for it?

Do I need to go through the current agent or can I use my preferred choice?

    Many thanks for any advice

it stays suspended for 80 days (from memory) then is released at a random time at the reigsters discression. That way everyone has a fair chance of getting it
    It is Inevitable.....

I asked nominet something similar and this is the reply i got.

Although the suspension of a domain that has not been renewed lasts 60
days, the domain was not suspended until 37 days after it expired. After
the end of the 97th day after expiry domains usually become available to
be re-registered, but this can happen at any time during a 48 hour period.

Regarding your query about the requirement for second level domains in the
.uk system, there is extensive information about how and why the system
    operates in the way it does at the following link;
