Doh....a deer

I just hit a Deer this morning with my car, made a right mess of the bonnet..............poor little beastie ran off.

thats gonna cost...

seen some pics of cars after they've hit deer - one of my dads workmates hit one at 70 and it did £9k of damage to their golf (hire car, heh)

It's at least going to cost me £150 excess.

As it's not an ass, mule or donkey I don't need to report it to the police.

I didn;t realise at least 40,000 deers are roadkill every year...I wondered where Waitrose get their Venison.

Don't deer accidents have to be reported? Since they are all crown property?

Legal/Moral duty
The law states that any accident involving a dog, horse, mule, ass, donkey, goat, pig, sheep or cow must be reported to the police within 24 hours. However a driver who hits any animal has a moral duty to tend to the injured animal.

I did try to find it, but it'd had gone.
I reported it to the RSPCA.

It's probably done about £1,500 of damage to my car... New bonnet, front bit, head light, bumper, blend the paints.

Oh and I pay the excess.

At least it wasn't a kid, etc.

Have you seen how big a fully grown male can get? It can easily write off a car if you hit one at speed.
