    I've done that too mate.

I''d not been home for a few days due to going to a LAN one weekend. Got in at 4am and was hungry so made some cheese on toast and ate it only to see the crust a bit spotty with blue bits.

I'm still here ( some people would say physically but not mentally ) so I don't think it should be a problem.

If you made it then just using mouldy bread you're probably fine, if the sandwich was pre-made and the whole thing went mouldy it depends what else is in it as to the risks.

Mould on bread is generally fine, it's probably just yeast mould. When i was a student i used to scrape it off and toast it. Cheese and veg should not be a major problem either. Mould on meat on the other hand... get a large delivery of loo roll from tesco online ordered ASAP.

    LOL

Mouldy bread can't harm you, but I'd be very worried about mouldy nuts or cereals.

I would be very worried about mouldy nuts as well.

When bread gets to its best before date for me, I check each slice I use for any furry bits. If I find a single bit I throw the whole loaf away.

The thought of it just makes me gag...

If I find any mould on a slice, I just pick that bit off. It seems a shame to waste the whole slice (or loaf!) for the sake of a bit of mould. But, that said, if it's *really* furry, then I draw the line at that and throw the lot away.

Don't know if it's true, but allegedly the mould that grows on citrus fruit is the most insanely toxic substance you are likely to encounter?
