I'm sure begging isn't technically legal.

    Not a problem for us.

We never go to the door for anything unless we know its planned (ie Delivery, friend, family.

In the end 99.9% of the time its someone trying to sell something or sign you up to something stupid.

This policy is useful as we avoid all Haloween trick/treat and carol singers.

think its just rude that the one place that you can escape the madness of the world gets disturbed by these people.

I trick or treated a bus once...the driver was none too pleased.

Generally though we used to set out from a party and work through the houses of our mates who lived in the area.

oh my god, can't believe they're coming around when it not the 31st

i've never been trick or treating, my mum wouldn't let me (she let me go drinking at 16 though?) -so old people wouldn't get scared i guess

in school we'd arrange two teams -6th formers vs the rest of the school and have 'egg night' on halloween, where we'd run around the city pelting eggs just at each other, best fun ever pity the fools who'd use their cars as apc's..

We usually have a bowl of chocolates or other sweets for them to take. If they're the little kids then they like them. If they don't like them, then they're too old to be out anyway. It's quite funny watching a couple of chavs begrudgingly take chocolate, realising they've been treated like children.

I think I might go out on the 31st dressed in Jeans and a plain t-shirt with the phrase "I am a ghost" written on my forehead in biro and go around to people's houses to see how much money or sweeties I get
