    Paying with a cheque

I am paying with a cheque on ebay. The seller, which is an actual shop, is asking for "cheque details" so they can send my item straight away without waiting for the cheque to clear.

What do they mean by cheque details? Do they mean the card number? my debit card only guarantees cheques up to £100 anyway.

chance is they will transax the cheque once you give them the details of it, that way transax puts a hold on the money against that cheque for a small fee, so if you had £500 in ur bank and the cheque is for 150, your balance will show £500 with 350 available.

My bank advised me NOT to ever send your card details on the back of a cheque, or if you really have to, dont write the expiry date, it'll still be honoured, but its one less detail for anyone trying to use the card details.

Not sure if this is relevant, I was in a m8's PC shop before, and one of his emails was a scanned cheque, and he told me that its valid payment....
