According to Ars Technica, this deal applies only to invited beta testers who supplied at least one bug report. All the ordinary schmoes who installed Vista and then took the trouble to test and file a proper bug report needn't bother checking their email.

I wonder if all the people who reported the same bug, get a license? Or is it the first to report it gets it?

I'm one of the 20,000 official beta testers.

Shame I never got around to submitting any bug reports though, only had it installed for a short while before I had to build a new PC.
