    Bogus bank emails

Does anyone use the Royal Bank of Scotland? Just logged into my account to find a "warning" message about bogus emails doing the rounds. It claims it needs to update your details by clicking on the link and then asks for full security number and password. The banks asks if you get one of these emails can you attach it to a new email and send it to ;digitalbanking@rbs.co.uk to help them identify the sender . I know most of you will be wise to stuff like this , but maybe it will save someone!

There's one going around from the Halifax too, saying that I need to log in to verify my account or my account will suspended...

Odd, seeing as I don't have a Halifax account

I have an email account that i used to sign up for bigpockets (and nothing else), aparently,an ex-employee of theirs stole the database and started up some other firm shipping discs, and from there, i get regular phishing mails and spams, no other emails at all apart from those.

just make sure you send them the email headers too, otherwise tracking it will be VERY hard for them.

I've had a lot of Barclays and RBS emails over the last couple of months. Not that I have accounts at either of them...

I seem to get quite a few of these.. mainly Halifax ones for my 'apparent' online banking account!.. I don't even have an account with them let alone online banking...

Also have recieved recently ones from Barclays and Natwest.. I just send them onto the banks and/or delete them.

I use RBSdigital all the time and as far as I can remember, that warning has been there for a couple of years.

Have never recieved a phishing email "from" RBS though, Lloyds and Natwest all the time.

I always forward them to the banks abuse or fraud email addresses then delete. Or if the phishing site is still up, I just fill out bogus details with as many rude words as I can think of, always makes me giggle thinking of a Nigerian scammer trying to log in with a user name of Gonad McRectum.

they have just changed the warning to be a bit more spacific. I think in the past they just said that they don't send emails asking for account details.

My spam folder is always full of that sort of emails mainly from Barclays and a Greek bank, kind of of funny since i dont have a Barclays account and never even been to Greece. I am going mad with the amount of spam i am getting, most of it goes from selling Viagra to stock market tips regarding some fast growing company...

All was fine before my last birthday but i received some birthday cards from friends and since them I get like 100 rubbish mails per day. I have instructed my friends not to use my email address anywhere and loaded my gun just in case someone fails to see my point.

Our college email address always get these sorts of emails, last week I thought I would fill them in with nice phrases for the person who sent them out to read.
