    Booking train fares etc

I been looking to save money when booking a train journey and was wondering if
its possible to get cheaper tickets without having to book a time.

Do you always have to book the exact time or are there other cheap tickets
    which dont have that restriction?

Depends how cheap you want it. AFAIK the saver return is the cheapest flexible ticket you can get that doesn't require a specific train (you can't use it for rush hour trains to/from London).

It's not as cheap as the Virgin Value tickets though

I used to book a ticket to norwich about 3 days before (super advanced it was i think) specified a time, but didnt cost too much if u were at the other end and wanted to leave later. think it went from 40 on the day down to 17-50, so good saver even if u want to change time on way bk
