unfortunately we can't advise on legal issues....

It is up to your Mum to get her to either the Doctors to help her, or to School.

Sadly, we can't help on either.

    Sorry dude....

Your sister needs a damn good kick and sent to school.

If you mum goes to prison or fined, then good tbph, she needs to put your sister in her place and let her know that she won't stand for it.

These are my views and not those of Hexus.net

One woman did go to prison for 30 days for her daughters (2 of them) not attending school. It worked, the kids went to school from then on. That happened earlier this year I believe.

    EDIT - Linky

Linky2<-- This is the one I was referring to above....

That sucks. Have you explained to your sister the situation? If not just go into the school yourself and tell them what's going on.

That's just an idea 'cause i wouldn't stand for that tbh

if i were in your position, I would drag my sister to her school; by her hair if necessary... Better that than my mother going to jail.

Just my opinion, but then again, I am a fairly forceful person when pissed off.

Good luck dude. Make sure your sister gets the idea, and hopefully she will see sense

doubt it the courts will work out how much she can pay back per month. but really the question is why isent your sister going to school..maybe she has problems...then again she may just be a lazy sod, but at 14 she should be going if she likes it or not

Maybe she is being bullied or something and is scared to go to school but scared to talk to either you or your mom. Try talking to her and find out if ithis is the case. your mom cant really get in trouble then. they will find a replacement school or give home tuition.
    Just a thought.
    Hope it all works out

if she is 'walking all over your mum' so to speak and gets her way all the time make sure your mum knows that the penalties are severe if your sister doesn't go to school and thus give her a kick up the arse and send her on her way. actually taking her and collecting her from school each day will sort this out too...
