www.TV-links.co.uk is genius but again not sure of the legal technicalities of it.

there are loads and loads of internet TV stations - but be careful which ones you tune in to a large majority of them are simply illegal streams of copyrighted material..there are some great original stations though, like hexus.tv

indeed. on wwitv.com there was (might still be there, not sure) a BBC stream. Interestingly, it was actually a BBC provided stream. It had the time code stuff at the top too, so it was obviously an engineering test stream that someone had found/leaked.

It is still there if you select UK then BBC1.

Could this mean you now need a TV license to own a computer?

According to what I was looking at yesterday the definition is that you need a TV Licence if you are viewing what is currently being broadcast across terrestrial, or within a short time-span of the current broadcast. (i.e. like Sky is about a second behind).

That also went along with "If you are using a device with batteries then it is covered under a household TV licence." as I was researching about mobiles that get TV.

I have asked the TV Licencing people to confirm/correct this so we can tell customers but surprise, surprise they haven't got back to me. How can they uphold a law when they won't even give the details out about it when asked?
