An earlier thread got me to thinking, who have you met/seen/talked too thats famous? (Dont want to get a reputation as a serial thread starter, but from time to time some lighthearted banter passes the day and gives everyone a chance to comment!)My claim to fame is meeting ,er ,dare i say..Mr David "cheap as chips" Dickinson , and yes he's just as orange in real life :lol:

Saracen from Gladiators handed me my N64 championship Cheque. He was built to the max. But sucked at Soul Caliber.
I've seen Max from hollyoaks (not sure of his real name) he was in york minster when i was working, using his mobile which you aren't aloud to, i didn't dare telling him not to use it inside though. Arthur Smith has also been in - one of the guys from grumpy old men. Apparently Russell Crowe visited early one morning too, but i wasn't working that day.
Mitch Pileggi and Nicholas Lea (aka Skinner and Krycek from The X-Files), Terry Scott and June Whitfield (helped film an episode of Terry & June when I was a kid) and a few others of 1980s TV fame (Bob Carolgees to name but one!)

My Dad made armour for a lot of famous people (including Jackie Chan) because he (and some of my friends) used to work in films (Bond, Gladiator, A Knight's Tale to name but three) but he would always turn down the chance to meet any of the stars (he's not star-struck in any way.)
A mate of mine used to go to a lot of the pro-celebrity golf tournaments when he was younger so he's met a ton of a-listers and another friend was involved in legal representation in Hollywood and so he met another load of famous types.. he said the nicest guy in Hollywood was Jim (not John) Belushi. The nastiest (in his opinion) was called Jack and had a surname which sounded something like Ikkleson. (Allegedly). :D He said he was something which sounded like "A compleat grasshole." (Allegedly)
Chris Fountain (Justin from Hollyoaks) was up at Lincoln Uni a few weeks ago doing something at one of the clubs. He got talking with one of my girlfriends flatmates and started walking back to the flat and then started to act like an idiot by dancing and showing off to passers by, in the end Vikki (her flat mate) told him to disappear (using harsher words). Was quite funny.
Also I've met John Kettley :) He came into a shop I used to work in, saw my badge and complemented on my name (My surname is Wetherman). I then said 'Thanks John Kettle!"....
For the record, Hollyoakers aren't famous.
Anyone met John Tickle? That'd be legendary. The man who walked on Custard.

Tyrone from Corrie - he knows a few of the lads I see in the pub occasionally so when I've popped in for a swift pint before going out I've said hello etc.

I met Roy Walker when i was working at morrisons. Served him his chicken. Didnt know it was him until someone had told me. I also met Roy James (great train robber) He was a friend of my dads.
Got speaking to the lead singer of Reef (remember them?) after a gig at the Lemon Tree here in Aberdeen. Seemed like a nice enough guy. Was asking us where was good for night out in the city. I had no idea, think i was 17 at the time and didn't know good pubs etc. Got my ticket stub signed though
I was a bridesmaid at Molly Sugden's wedding.
I've met Ruud Gullit, and Alan Shearer, I was in the directors box at Newcastle United. Sat next to Estelle Cruyf (Estelle Gullit now) there as well, she was a bit tasty.
Martin Johnson came in to get his phone from me last year. Some other premiership footballers who have got BlackBerrys from me but no names are allowed to be mentioned.
Went to a house party at one of the Kasabian peoples house a while back as well but I was so drunk they may have been there they may have not, who knows!
I once interviewed ASH and then went to a rock 'n roll private party (in fact I took a wee in the sink whilst Tim (lead singer) was washing his hands next to me, I thought it was the urinals (well they looked like troughs). Also met Antony Worral Thompson, Phil Jupitus, Ian Wright and loads of other footballers over the years. I'm sure here's been a number of other rubbish celebs but their names escape me.
My mum's second cousin is Cilla Black. lol

Craig McLachlan played wotsit in Neighbours, I met him at a radio station in Norwich when he was doing an interview there, chatted for a few minutes, he was nice.
Carol Decker, She was shopping in Shrewsbury once, just after T'Pau got really famous, I She was in a clothes store and she dropped something She was carrying, I picked it up for her because She hadn't realised, I didn't know who it was at first.
Roy Wood ( Wizzard ) was a Mate of my Dads, he used to drink in a Hotel near the town where my Dad grew up, and he'd often invite us and Dad up to drink with him.

No "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" BUT
I had someone from about 10 stores down (George's) come into my workplace to buy some permanent CD pens for Jordan to autograph (why she didn't go to Borders I don't know.)
Otherwise I saw one of the footballers (of Manchester United, erm the name doesn't pop to mind at the moment) drive out of the back delivery car park with a jeep behind him...
I met the warrior in a grocery shop in oxton(he lives there)
also see hollyoaks cast members around liverpool alot
mainly lee hunter, max and ob, justin. i saw bombhead once.
various other minor local celebs to pointless to name.

I *think* I saw Travis Barker from Blink182 in Monte Carlo last year, can't be 100% sure though. My sister was a big fan at the time and thought it was him too.

I've also seen Kylie VERY close up whilst I was at the BBC (friend works there and signed me in - able to wonder around the place) and was looking around and saw her coming out of the dressing room going into the studio for Top Of The Pops, so I wandered over and walked right past her. She had a lovely smile. :D She was alo tiny!

Had dinner with Willy Rushden long ago in the mid 90's I think, may be earlier.

Quite friendly with Labhrás Ó'Murchú, Senator for Seanad Éireann (Irish Parliament).

I met Bill Clintin in the whitehouse when he was president in 1997. I was also in the twin towers. This was all done to promote cross community relations with people from n.i.
It was a very good day and i was only 13. Got to shake the pressies hand :D Not many ppl will be able to say now that they were in the whitehouse :)

I have met quite a few famous people, unfortunatly most of them where Australian celebs, so that does not count. My Aunt is a well famous news reader/TV presenter in Australia.
Had a beer once with Chris Moyles from Radio One in a bar in Leeds (Mojo's cocktail bar).
I spilt larger over an actress off East Enders at the Big Chill fest this year, forgotten her name now though. Saw load of Soap stars there, mostly very off their heads.
I also once witnessed a group of famous Soap stars (all from one particular soap) snorting coke openly in the toilets of a bar in Leeds. My mate who was the manager had to chuck them out. I won't mention their names for legal reasons ;)

I have seen Amanda Tapping from SG-1, Benicio Del Torro, Brett Ratner, Sacha Baren Cohen, and Iceman and Pyro from X Men. The fact that I have worked as an extra a few times since living in Vancouver is purely coicidental.
