    LCD TV's

Ok, so i've just got my xbox 360 hooked up and its awesome, but i cant help thinking that it would look so much better on a big boy LCD TV thinking of 42"

i've seen one i like which im tempted to just go out and buy, however, is it worth waiting for january and the sales?? or is it likely the prices will be lowered BEFORE Xmas so everyone has them in there homes for the festivities

Steve will tag along in this thread as he's thinking of getting a 32" LCD HDTV in January. Windows MCE's just pants on a CRT.

I've been very upset with how small my 32" feels, and been hankering for a 46".

Whilst i can't really afford one, i really should improve my credit raiting and an intrest free offer is tempting.

However i in NO WAY WHAT SO EVER ran some sims at work looking at the trends in certain firms.

As such i IN NO WAY came to the conclusion to wait till feb.

edit: should mention any conclusions i in no way could of come too would of been about the profitability of the trades, and the cost of their manifacture is just one component. Its only my hope that cost savings will appear

unlikely to see much lowering of prices.

Depends what you are looking for - worth checking out the Toshiba WLT66 range, its been superceeded by the WLT68, but its still a cracking set - seriously good prices can be found...42" £1214.90, 47" £1564.90 for example...

Prices might drop after christmas - but it might also take a while, I would suspect they will see how the market fares over the period and decide from there.

The discounts and cost cutting on the whole has come from the unknown brands flodding the market - prices on branded sets is a little less susceptible

WHY DO THEY HAVE TO PUT BIGGER TV'S NEXT TO THEM

they look so inferior compared to a big monster

Why is it 26" screens are pretty poor value compaired to the 32" versions?

I've been after a 26" for the bedroom for a while (finances keep getting in the way though) but they seem vastly over priced compaired to the bigger screens. I think a 32" would be far too big in there too.

    televisions are never big enough
go with the 32, as its got almost double the screen real estate of the 26

i was thinking that last night while watching my 42" plasma. I could quite happily replace it with a 50" on that wall

However, by bedroom isn't the biggest and i would have to squeeze between the end of the bed and the TV to get to my wardrobe. It's a shame LCD TVs are no where near as slim as LCD monitors. Might end up with a monitor instead actually...
