    Best news in ages! Smoking Ban Date set!

    It's about time, I only wish it was earlier.
    I know the joy of going out to a smokeless bar/club thanks to my constant trips to New Jersey, and I for one will be the happiest man when it comes over here!

    We've had the smoking ban in place since the beginning of this year back at home. It's actually really nice to go into pubs without coming out smelling like smoke.

    My girlfriend's allergies get set off by smoke; so it'll be much more pleasant for her... I'm not such a fan of having hair smelling of smoke after a night out, either.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    I don't (and never have) smoke(d). I hate smoking, I hate stinking of other peoples' smoke when I come out of the pub and I particularly hate people who smoke around me when I'm eating..

    However, it's another 'civil liberty' lost so while it's welcome on one level (and it should help some smokers to quit) I also have mixed feelings about it..

    I'm probably a liberal wet... (But Patricia Hewitt is a patronising old bag!)

    As a smoker I am all for this. Smoking is discusting and its only fair that those who smoke should be forced to smoke outside, away from those who choose not to smoke.

    I spent a good few weeks in Canada and it was utter bliss to be able to walk into bars and to breath in fresh air!

    Ill be giving up this month anyway as I am rediculasly (sp?) unhealthy (hexus.active here i come)

    My only worry about the ban is will it force alot more smokers to smoke at home? This could be potenially damaging to their children

    A friend of mine had a poster which went something like this:

    You like to smoke cigarettes. The byproduct of your enjoyment is smoke.
    I like to drink beer. The byproduct of my enjoyment is urine.
    Would you like it if I p*ssed all over your clothes?

    (shrugs)

    Hooray! It can only be a good thing. Leaves you with only one smell to hide after a sneaky half!
