Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    WOW

    Seriously unimpressed with Hexus there.

I though you were better than that Saracen.

    Very poor show.

The mods may all have agreed on the result, but I think I've pretty much made up my mind to look for an alternative tech forum home now because of this.

I also disagree with Austin's ban, having just gone through that thread myself.

While some of his statements did warrant apology, Saracen did seem to rampage, not in a bad sense, but in his use of ultra-bold and big font text, etc. A diplomatic way of putting it would be that Saracen is passionate in his opinions.

I feel that the demand for apology ("If you wish to continue posting at Hexus, I suggest to reconsider those remarks and apologise for them.") is indeed a threat. A warning is an instruction to avoid certain future conduct, lest a reprimand be carried out. A threat is an instruction to do something now, lest a reprimand be carried out. If one wants to insist that it is a warning, then it should be seen as a sort of wrath (For lack of better phrasing) warning - do this to appease me, or be reprimanded (You can see the God / creature image I used here - again, for lack of another analogy. Absit invida).

Lastly, I feel that Saracen banned him prematurely. Having read Zak33's comments, Austin may have felt differently after reading them himself. However, 2 hours 20 minutes after Zak made his post, Austin is banned. If you look at the last post Austin made (Sometime at 2am), you might well conclude that he would be sleeping at 11:20, the time he was banned, and may not have had a chance to read Zak's comments. I feel it wouldn't have hurt if he'd had more time.

All of the above assuming that there was no communication between Saracen and Austin via PM or some other non-public form. And, again, absit invidia.

As mentioned it was a team decision. Please respect that decision - it wasn't made on a whim.

I respect the decision thats been made and there was obviously some thought put into it, but just because i respect it i don't have to agree.

Had my fair share of disagreements with austin but just because i don't love the fella doesn't meen im all that pleased to see him banned like this, the ban was too quickly executed IMO, as eldren said he may not have even had chance to read zaks post before he was banned. Google or not he has helped quite a few people.

Phew, that took a lot of reading, jeez been here 30mins!!! damn all those long posts, and lots of techno wording...

Well i have to say that i also think that it is a bad decision to ban Austin, and on 1599 posts!!! what has the world come to...?

He has helped a hell of a lot of people, im fairly surprised that he isnt a mod or something for his contribution.

Hopefully he will come back in some form.......

My 2p is that Hexus doesnt have enough members with quality posts to go around Banning them like that you can probably count them all on one hand, the comunity is nothing without the members. Sure you have to Ban people if they are out of line, but I dont think he was out of line, and even if he was have you ever heard of a temp Ban? Instead of barging in and permanent Banning?
