    Damn Currys!

I preordered my WII from Currys.
    Mistake.
I got a letter stating I wouldn't be getting one today.
I rang up, Currys, in Merry Hill (A big Mall) received a grand total of:

Any one know the downsides of me picking up a US model this January?

Our store got 0. I looked on our systems, and we had about 200 for the entire company. If you give me the date and time you bought yours, and the store you got it from (with store number. should be 4 digits), I'll let you know when you should get yours.

Blackpool Currys got 2, but, they were pre-orders only.

The amount of people coming in for Wii consoles/accesories/games though, was crazy. About 1 out of 8 people.

I have been waving it at my wife though while making fighting and sporty noises which is quite good fun! Doesnt make up for not having the console though!

apparently PCWorld and curries have had hudge problems with supply!

HMV and Virgin look like good bets, apparently some Virgin stores (the one in ec2 apparently) will be getting a shipment in some time before monday, and with no pre-allocation.

Yep we have, like I said in another thread, DSGi as a group only got ~200 consoles. We had something like 2000 preorders throughout the company.

Question PCWorld - Any chance I'll get it before Christmas?

    I pre-ordered a Wii from PCWorld.

Wasn't expecting it on release day but would have liked it for Christmas - its a present for someone else.

Anyone know if PCWorld is expecting to meet its pre-orders by Christmas??

    Thanks

    Rev

I am coming around to thinking that DSGi are at fault here since they continued taking pre-orders despite not knowing how many consoles were in the first batch. Amazon waited until they were told and then took pre-orders, DSGi have done this before with XBox 360 and seem to think they are the only electrical retailer in the UK (especially after there VHS announcement, other places still stock VHS).

I think maybe they got a little greedy with thinking that pre-orders would guarntee business.

Last I spoke to Virgin, which was yesterday, they were expecting an unknown number for re-stocking sometime later this week.

Comet say that they are receiving theirs within the next two days, though most if not all of those will go on pre-orders.

PC World are saying that they don't know when they'll get their next stock.

Argos are 'hoping to deliver by Christmas'.

DSG (Dixons, Curry's etc) are saying that they have deliveries all the time but can't say when and what.

Game are saying that they're getting two deliveries a week but of unknown quantities.

    Gamestation are the same.

Toys R Us are saying that they expect more in but don't know when.

Cheers Nick, sounds like all the retailers are confused about what is happening and how many they are getting, could be because its too early before a next shipment.

I'm assuming Amazon has no more as there is no 'add to shopping basket' option. Also nice to see the Amazon Marketplace still filling up with £450 machines no one wants. And one used for £600, what planet do these people think we are on.

Even those getting units are in the order of low single digits..

I guess nobody is really capable of a successful worldwide console launch then..
