I thought it was great, glad it was a one-off from Catherine Tate though, i'm not a fan of hers.

    New series looks good though

You have seen prime time TV throughout the rest of the year, right?

Fair enough, each to their own, but regardless of whether you like it or not, I can't understand how you can just write something off like that when there has been almost nothing of any merit on prime time TV for years...

The word abysmal doesn’t cover it.
Terriable acting, poor storyline, horribly put together. Honestly, the BBC has lost it.

yeh theres been nothing for years but theres always been something which u can jsut about watch. Dr Who isn't a show which u would sit down and watched randomly. ITs not a family program, its a series which some people follow. Just isnt something that should have ever have been on xmas day evening.. Jsut put a film on thats easy watching. The other channels were dire too, so i actually was forced to watch some of it

I must admit was I waiting for Ms Tate to burst into "Gran" mode throughout the episode.

"A giant spider? Eat the entire human race? What a ........... etc etc etc."

Perhaps it was too much to hope for.

Still the final image on the new season preview was a nice surprise which made me grin (though not totally unexpected, this is DrWho after all).

Yeah, Catherine Tate just can't do the whole 'acting' thing.

Im worried that Dr. Who and Torchwood will turn into a Holby City and Casualty intermixing kinda thing... Now that would suck.

Just got round to watching it last night and I have to say that it was rubbish. I quite liked the others in a strange kind of way.

Based on a true story my arse.

Looking at it as a Christmas Day joke story, there were a few funny one liners and visual gags, but basically it did suck big hairys...

It wasn't great, Catherine Tate was a terrible choice for the show (thank god she isn't the new sidekick) and this episode had a really rubbish ending.

I've given up comparing the new dr who to the old one - its just a completely different programme with some similar sounding/looking names and monsters. If you watch it as a new show then its OK..but more ITV quality than BBC.

Also, did you notice that his new sidekick is the same actress who has played loads of other parts in the new dr who - and now she is playing an entirely new character again! Fair play to her I do think she is a good actress...but it just totally screws up the continuity (just like dame judy dench in Casino Royale).

Still, its not as bad as torchwood is it

Totally excellent. Just watched it tonight and it was top notch fun. Can't wait for the new series especially as Torchwood is beginning to build up to the finale which supposedly ties in with the new Dr Who series.
