OMFG. Talk about repeat the mistakes of Betamax.
I for one am glad. I want Sony to lose on both Blu ray and the PS3 not because I like Microsoft or Nintendo - just that I hate Sone as in the past them and their utterly shoddy products and service has caused me lots of trouble.

Actually thinking about it Porn made VHS win but back then you couldn't just log on and start downloading - you either had to go to a porn shop for the vids, mail order them or visit the top shelf of newsagents and either employ "top stealth" or do "the walk of shame"
I dont think porn will make up such a high percentage of sales these days.

porn wasn't about sales, it was about rentals

the presence of porn made the video rental places pick vhs over beta for their entire stock. and that was that

imagine if blockbuster decided to only stock hd-dvd. reckon that'd look good for sony, to prospective buyers?

Thats it, the formats dead then. Pornography has always leads the way in new media formats/broadcast methods.

Sony do make some quality product's, unfortunatly they also have a very "you'll take it like that because thats how you like it, whore" style of marketing things, thats not to detract from some of their achievements though, iirc they were one of the major forces behind dvd's and minidisc was a format I'd like to have seen more done with.

i don't think it is as cut and dried as it was with VHS, but no pornogrphy on BluRay is a good few nails in the coffin IMHO.

The next factor is recordable formats...

I still think sony will have to change this law, cause they will loose too much investment in the blu-ray.

If not sony are going to loose sooooo much money!

In terms of it as a media HD-DVD is actually vastly suerior

    1. More fit onto a disc
Blu-Ray can currently only store up to 25gb of data, whereas HD can support up to 30gb
    2. Better disc protection
Blu-ray is written closer to the surface so scrathes may damage discs far more than hd where like a standard dvd it is written 'deep'
    3. accesibility
a LOT of people already own a 360, £130 to convert it into a hd-player? that is a bargain (same goes for PC users if you know how to convert it )
    4. --------------
    Its sony lol
on a serious note, M$ can win easily simply because they could make it their disc of choice for future software/games/OS's so people would have to have the drives on their computers, may aswell use it for film too...

flipping great its because of smut though lol

Dont spread lies to try to reinforce your point. A Dual Layer BD disc can fit 50 GB of data. i.e. 25GB per side
    A dual layer HD-DVD can fit 30GB. i.e. 15 GB per side.
