What would you put in a survival kit (or tin)?

Right.. i'm feeling nice and paranoid today, and i would like some advice on what sort of stuff to put in a survival tin (or two). I'm using an Altoids tin to put stuff in. So far.. the list is:

Compass
Penknife
Flint/Steel
Hurricane Matches
Fishing gear (couple of hooks, line, shot, float)
Signal mirror
Fresnel Magnifier (credit card size magnifying glass)
Pen/Paper
Wire Saw
Snare wire
Water purification tablets (or maybe just iodine)
Safety Pins
Whistle
Candle
(maybe some 330 paracord)

.. Should be a fun project

Depneds what sort of survival.

I would scan or photograph important documents like my pasport, marage certificate, education certificates, insurance policies etc, and put them on a USB key.

The idea is that if there is a war, huge earthquake, etc that destroys my home and the town I live in, then all the other stuff in the tin will help me survive in the short term, and those scaned documents will make it easer to get my life in order in the long term.
