the old card died new one advice thanks

ok for one reason or another my 6800 ultra has died.
I have a laptop far superior however rather than waste the whole desktop i thought i'd replace the old trusty 8xAGP card.
I was thinking of a 7600GT by XFX for £100 is a nice replacement.

so the question is will the 7600GT give roughly the same performance as the 6800ultra did..... give or take ?

    Thanks in advance.

I found this table on the internet that shows your card compared to various other cards. I know it doesnt have the 7600GT on it but it does have the X1950 from ATi which you can get on Ebuyer for £100 as a suitable replacement if you wished

Get it for around £100 at:

VGA Chart over at tomshardware. Have a quick browse. Looks like the 7600GT does have the slight edge over the 6800 Ultra, but the X1950 Pro is top of the range for agp and worth the money if your budget sretches that far.

    Thats the PCI-E version
    Interface Type PCI Express x16
The AGP version is a 512MB only and it costs about £140-50 because its AGP and because of the memory size.

Sorry, didnt take that into account.

But if its within the available budget I would recommend going for it, the improvement is massive. Alternative another one I found is:

doesnt matter, we all make mistakes I'm looking for a good cheap agp card too. The last best AGP card I seen was a X800XT PE Radeon card.
