Zalman VF700-CU fan has just failed - replacement suggestions

Stasrted getting graphical articfacts on my 6800gt while playing san andreas last night. Thought it may have been a corrupted driver so uninstalled old drivers and installed new ones. Happened to be looking at nvdia control panel and noticed the gpu temp at idle was about 86 deg.

Had a look at my gpu and noticed the fan wasn't spinning anymore(despite what I try to do, it won't work again).

Anyway, now on the lookout for a new cooler and need some help.

I want it as quiet as possible with good thermal performance. I know to get the best thermal performance normally means a loud fan so I want something that will work well but I know it won't be the best thermally if I want it to be as silent as possible.

I don't tend to play a lot of graphic intense games, - san andreas prob being the most intensive game I play at the moment.

Any suggestions? - also, are passive coolers any good?
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Zalman VF900, I bought the fatal1ty version(black and a faster fan) when my vf700 died, keeps my 7950GT in check it at 5v and is totally silent.

the Zalman coolers are really good. I had the normal vf-900 and was very impressed with its performance. It was keeping my x1950 pro below the 40's idle. They also seem to be really compatible and fit a lot of cards so if you are planning on upgrading within a few months (as long as its not a geforce 8*** or the ATI equiv) it should passover to your next card.
Another option is arctic cooling. Their solutions are near enough silent and are much cheaper check here
i think a zalman is a little cost & performance overkill if you are not doing anything too intense & dont plan to change your card.

As for passive coolers have a look at the Thermalright HR-03 and the KuFormula VF1. Their performances is supposed to be pretty good + seems reasonably idea for light usage.

edit... go to a diff shop other than overclockers, i recently found out they are aweful. sorry

Another vote for the vf-900, but given your 700 broke I'd understand if you'd prefer to go elsewhere!

You could always swap out the fan for another with a little work. Some folks have already done it over at SPCR.
