Can't Comment on the first one but the LG is lovely. My dad just bought one. 3 very nice presets..movies look better than my dell 2007wfp..bit annoying actually.
Very rich colour...noticably the reds and blacks are both very nice.
Just the stand that lets it down with the lack of much adjustability other that tilt.

Both similar in spec but I would say the Lg as it has D-Sub(analogue) and DVI-D (Digital) connections were as the other seems to only have analogue connection. The LG also had a better contrast ratio.

ok yeh i thought it would be better, just by looking at online pictures. build quality looks better too. thanks guys i just thought that contast ratio seemed a little false

It is. It's a 'dynamic' contrast ratio, meaning it can't show that all at the same time, but when the average picture is dark it dims the backlight, and when the average picture is bright it increases it.
Actual contrast ratio will be 650-700:1, with a 3x difference in brightness from max to min backlight.
