I've had my new card for a few days, and it's fine though I've had 2 or 3 BSOD's or machine crashes.
I tried to run the latest 3DMark 06 this morning, but after three tries it's not got past the 2nd test, re. the above problems. Every time.
Faulty card? This is the latest WHQL drivers, and a Seasonic 600 PSU.
Did you use driver cleaner pro to get rid of the ATI drivers properly?

If your temps look ok (probably will) then it's most likely driver/bios issues from reading around..
Might be worth testing your memory too..
It's a BFG 8800GTX, OC to 600.
Is it mostly dying in WOW BC by any chance?
No actuallly - WOW isn't the most demanding of games.... :) SC killed it though...
Just wondered as there's a LOT of posts in the 'net about BSODs mostly with WOW BC. Seems the BFG card has a known issue but nobody knows how to fix it..

nVidia sure seem to be having driver issues of late (and not just on Vista apparently). At least it's fast inbetween crashes..
The specs say it should be at 575mhz, so perhaps downclock to the proper speeds and see if it's more stable?Quote:

Yeah, but BFG OC it from 575 to 600, and ship them as such...
Didn't realise that. I don't trust manufacturers OCs - especially in demanding games. Almost all factory OC'd 7900s failed in Oblivion for example :p
That said it's probably not helped by drivers. If you can try out the next oldest WHQL drivers (properly cleaning out your new ones) I'd give it a go, and it's still worth downclocking to 575.
The WoW crash with the 8800 is a BSOD when entering certain areas.....the Aviak areas in Terrokar make it happen almost instantly for me.
Setting 2 x Multisampling in the WoW video options has solved it for me, although it sounds like this isn't your issue, its worth noting ;)
My PSU isn't stable enough on the 12c rail.
