this is what happens when you get to market first then keep the pressure on. little miffed that the 8900GT isn't going to be cheaper than the 8800GTS tho, as it will certainly be far cheaper to produce. not set in stone of course tho

I just hope they are both case and wallet friendly
8900gtx ftw
i wouldnt mind getting the 8900 over the 8800 if it had lower power consumption, but as far as i recall, the x1950s had gddr4 - and that stuff apparently runs quite hot.
temps are quite important, and although it does look like im going to wait until april 22nd before i go core2quad, i think the 8800gtx will still do me just fine.
Knowing that I'll probably get a new PC this year, in 2nd half, there will probably be some nice products for even nicer price. Joy!
However, the 128 bit bus on the 8600GT seems, well.. questionable.

hopefully some benchmarks or firm price information will leak on these before the launch...
I want a new card thats going to be futureproofed but well over 300 quid for the GTX is pretty silly money, even if it is a beast...
any ideas when this may happen?
Well, it may be a good price at the moment for the power you get but while there's no competition at that power range nvidea wont have to worry about competing on price.
I'll be paying 200 for a E6600 and will be spending a little bit more on the GPU. I'm gonna go for the 8800 GTS.
I hate buying an expensive graphics card then having to watch the price plummet over the next 6 months... this seems less likely with the GTS than the GTX.
