Isn't it possible they improved the accuracy of the temp probe used to measure your cards temps ? I remember a mate flashing his Socket A board and saying something similar however after a little testing it turned out the chip ran the same temp but the under socket probe was known to be a few degrees off so they increased the offset reading to +6c or whatever.

I've seen no change in load and idle temps with these drivers. Using an AGP X850 pro, flashed and o/c to XT PE.
