Should I avoid HyperMemory and TurboCache?

    I'm looking for a 256MB entry level PCI-E card for a basic, non-gaming PC.

I'm assuming it's a bad thing to have a card which steals system memory? It's not obvious which cards have this feature!

    Help me please

I think they only really steal system memory for games, they have enough onboard memory for the framebuffer

If you aren't gaming (which to be honest you couldn't really on a card of that level!) then as long as you have a decent amount of RAM (1Gb+) then I see no reason why not to get one.
If you don't have so much RAM then in general a hypermemory card will hinder performance all round so maybe best avoiding it and paying the extra for dedicated memory (which surely isn't that much is it?)

With Vista Aero they'll also steal more system memory for how many windows you have open.

maybe he got sent down for 4 years and only just got released?

or maybe he got abducted by aliens who did one lap too few of the sun before dropping him back precisely 4 years adrift of when they intended...

...Say FunkyT just in case, FYI it's 2011, the economy's ****ed, we didn't win the world cup, did win the Ashes though, they've still not found Bin Laden, the world seems to be self-destructing, but Wills is getting married so somehow that makes everything ok. If I were you I'd check your underwear isn't on back-to-front and inside out, who knows what those alien folk were getting up to while you were out for the count...
