9600 Xt
Ok 2 day i had the choice of getting me 1 of the 2 graphics card!
option 1 asus 9600 xt 128mb
option 2 saphire 9600 xt 256mb
ok i opted for the saphire card!
now my friend tells me that the asus card would have been a better option. So i told him no the saphire is slightly better now can u guys help me settle this please!

The Asus will have faster memory on it = better performance, you don't really need 256Mb really either :p
-
I tested out the ASUS 9600XT and its a great card, although not played with the Shapphire card so can't really compare!
-
ive got a connect 3d seems great so far
-
As donny john says the asus will have faster memory even thought there's less of it, theres no need for 256mb yet tbh
-
its just as the old saying goes. Its quality, not quantity. However, youve got yourself one of the best Performance per Pound cards out there ATM, so dont go kicking yourself. My advice is to stop arguing with your mate, and buy some games, to waste a weeks worth of evenings on it

what speeds are the mem on each card?
usually more mem either costs lots more or is a lot slower.
9600xt's have standard stock speeds, i expect that both cards will have the same as they are both XT's.
256mb is usefull - running with 16xaf 6xaa in 1600*1200 with full gfx 128mb can start to run out
-
yeah i would like to know as well the full true clock speeds of both cards as i have a fair clue of wot they r but i dont know for sure!
-
Both great makes and the 256MB prob won't clock so high on the mem but with that amount of RAM why not!
-
Its not how big it is but what you do with it that counts. 128" er i mean meg is enough for any man. I have a 9600xt and regardless of the card no games are really using that ammount of memory.
-
ok cheers lads and lases but wot r the clock speeds of both cards? still need to know officialy!

Sapphires 9600XT 256Mb version is 500 Core/290 Memory :( (ATI spec is 500/300 :-/ Linkage
The Sapphire 9600XT 128Mb version is 500/325 :) Linkage
There is a Sapphire 9600XT Ultimate version available too, that may be faster! Linkage

The Sapphire 9600XT 256MB is default 500/297 , so say's Rage 3D tweak and power strip, mine in a shuttle clocks to
3DMark 01 = 16141 (600/345)
Aquamark = 35,890 (600/345)
3DMark 03 = 4448 (585/340)
without any artifacts or major effort
