    R6xx Prices!

    Prices people.

    We've been able to confirm pricing on ATI's upcoming R600-series GPUs - here's the breakdown:

    R600 $499.00 R630 XT $199.00 R630 Pro $179.00 R610 $99.00

    http://www.bootdaily.com/index.php?o...=395&Itemid=59

    OK lets see if I can work out the price of it in the UK.

    (All using XE)

    BFG 8800GTX OC from USA (Newegg) = 579.99 = 294.234 GBP

    BFG 8800GTX OC from OcUK = £387.74 inc VAT

    £387.74 = 764.281 USD

    764.281 - 579.99 = 184.291 USD

    R600 = 499USD + ~ 185 USD = 684USD

    684USD = 346.997 GBP

    So if my maths is right the R600 will cost around £350.

    So im guessing it will be around the price of a 8800GTX card that is out now. So it will range in between £350 and £4xx

    i like the maths lol

    I could have guessed those prices though..anyone could..

    It's probably going to be slightly better than the GTX and priced to match..until the 8900's come out and raise the bar again.

    It's never going to be that low - there's ALWAYS a premium in the EU. It's all rather academic anyway while we don't actually know how the things go

    They know they can charge between £400 and £500 for the top of the range model so they most probably will. It happened with the x1900, x1950 and Nvidia have done it with 8800 so looking at previous pricing patterns it will likely go that way

    Only 20 bucks between PRO and XT? And what's an R630 or R610 anyway? V key broken on Boot Daily's keyboard?

    I'd suggest these are just made up, or come from a crap source.

    Same as nV did with the 7x00 series though. It's just an internal number than techies use. Anyone who knows the numbers should know not to buy the cut-down version if they want the faster part.

    sadly that's probably what it'll end up like. Why o why do we put up with such extortionate prices.
