    20" Vs 22"

Hey, long time reader, but first time poster.

Basically ive finally got enough money to buy a monitor so i can get off this old 17 inch 4:3 samsung. Choice is between Samsung 226bw and Dell 2007wfp.

Sammy 226bw: Looks nice, newer and has the two extra inches over the Dell. A bit worried bout the whole TN panel colour shift thing, Blue LED power light being annoying and bleeding into the panel and the shiny bezel reflecting stuff and getting annoying.

Dell2007wfp, but A03 revision: Looks nice and should have better height adjustment, has a better panel, and more connections. A bit worried that its not A04 revision, and most importantly im losing 2 inches of visual space although the resolution is the same.

I have some questions that would help me decide:

    1. What is the Dell panel and is it that much better over TN considering I watch quite a lot of movies.

    2. What is the difference between A03 and A04 revisions of the dell?

    3. Will I really miss the 2 inches even though the resolutions are the same? (considering i have 17" now). I've been on TV calculator and seen the actual difference but I cannot decide how much effect it has.

    4. Can i plug a Freeview/Playstation 2 into the Dell?
(I do not have a TV at uni and would be quite helpful, as I have not heard of a TV card that actually works as its supposed to)

    5. Any other monitors I should consider for the 240 notes range?

Both can be had for the same price but I cannot decide which to get,, any help appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

I have the 2007WFP and it's the best monitor i've used to date.

I use all the connections and the the only thing that its not great for is my ps2 through the composite but I dont care too much about that.

DVD quality is amazing. Really good blacks and reds which let LCD's panels down a lot of the time.

What you gain with 22" is bigger fonts etc..and 2 extra inches for watching dvd's but I think you will lose the sharpness. I havn't ever actually used a 22" monitor though so I can't really say either way.

I use both, here at work I have a 20" panel and at home a 22" for the games

I guess I prefer the 22", it does a better job of filling your field of view and (as my missus keeps reminding me) bigger is always better..... right
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
