In what way does it not fit? ie is the card too big for the case or does the card not slot into the motherboard?
card doesn't fit into motherboard ati has 3 slots and a hook shaped part and my motherboard only has room for 2 slot parts.
am i right in saying that i need a pci connection as my motherboard hasn't got agp slot.
please confirm that this is correct, just starting to learn this stuff, sorry if this is basic.
umm.. if your board doesnt have a AGP slot then you're pretty much in a very painful stitch..
9800XT wont fit into a PCI slot and there are no 3rd party converters that could turn a PCI to AGP..
and honestly even if you did, you'd be severely limited..

I'd have thought that system would have an AGP slot.. can you take a picture of your motherboard?
hi can't take picture no way off putting it on pc i've got three white shots which have two slots one big one small.
all i wanted was a s-video out i'm selling the graphics card on ebay, in hope that what i make i can buy one that fits.
thank you for your help!!!
If you've got three identical slots, then they're going to be PCI (note not PCI-E either), sorry.
You should be able to get a PCI card with S-video out though. Just don't expect any great performance with it.

thank you for your help
completely off topic, mind if i ask which protein space-fill do you have there in your avatar?

:O You need a magnifying glass - it's DNA!(edit - larger image below)
Can't remember the PDB ID anymore, it's just something I use when demonstrating SwissPDBViewer and how to make pretty pictures with POV-ray. I do actually work with protein structures more, but in this case the DNA was pretty

ahh.. well its almost guesswork when I look at your avatar.. its going to be either protein or nucleic acid.. and honestly I wont even be able to see the DHelix..As from far it might actually be just 2 folded subunits of an anchor enzyme..
Well, I work almost exclusively on proteins and their relevant research..
