    Question TFT Monitor Questions

Currently I have a 17" Belinea CRT monitor I purchased of a friend of mine, it's served me well so far but I think it's on it's last legs.

So I've decided I will be saving up for 2 TFT monitors to go with my newly upgraded PC, and I had a few questions:

Currently I run nearly everything at 1600x1200 on this monitor.
Since I'm so used to everything being 1600x1200, is it possible to run 19" TFTs at this resolution (Or the 16:9 equivalent). Or are they stuck at running their native resolution and lower?

Also, how small can you get the borders around the monitor? I was planning to put them literally right next to each other and possibly stretch something across both of them.

And what price range would I be looking at to get some good quality 19" TFT monitors, with small borders? (Primarily for gaming)
(I don't require any fancy built in speakers or USB hubs etc.)

*edit* If I can't get a 19" TFT to run at the equivalent of 1600x1200 for 16:9 aspect ratio, what size of TFT would I be looking at to support this resolution?

*edit* It seems I'll have to get a 20" TFT to support 1600x1200 according to HowStuffWorks.com [http://computer.howstuffworks.com/monitor6.htm] :C

*edit* What price am I looking for a good quality 20" TFT (Widescreen?) primarily for gaming and general video/3D/image editing?
I would prefer if the TFT was just the monitor, no speakers or USB hubs built in if possible

20 or 22" WS would be my bet - 1680x1050 res, and then you could always add another

I'd go for the 2007fpw - no speakers but does have a USB hub - not sure if that is going to put you off - but it does have one of the best picture qualities on the market.

Well it's not the fact that I really don't want a USB hub or speakers with it, it's just something extra that I will never use.

The speakers are probably the thing I don't want, as I would prefer a smaller border to the monitor

*edit* Hmm, I'm put off the Dell 2007FPW since I've heard around it has problems with DVI input (I have a 8800GTS, 2x DVI ouput)
You can see what I mean here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1047166

*edit* nvm that was ages ago and it seems that they fixed the issues with the monitor

*edit* Now I'm thinking about it, £330 is fairly out of my price range for 2 of these things. I was looking more towards the £250 mark :/
