    Which 22" Monitor?

Which of the following would be better?

    Daewoo L2200DM - £188
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/produ...oductID=585232

    LG L226WT-SF - £call for price (Scan)
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=564708

Am I right in thinking the LG would be better due to quality and it may be a Samsung 225BW underneath?

One plus reason for the Daewoo is I won't have to modify my desk (monitor shelf).

    Thanks.

quite a few people seem to have bought the daewoo recently and there not been any complaints as far as i've seen.

They were selling that LG for around £190 before so theres nothing in it on price (assuming they havn't changed it).

Obviously the true contrast ratio isn't 3000:1 it's some trickery but the 19" LG with said trickery is very nice...lovely in fact when watching movies.

I have that LG monitor and its more than decent for the price. As the above poster noted, its not really 3000:1 but it is extremely bright and sharp - much brighter than my old Viewsonic VX912.

Never set eyes on the Daewoo so can't offer an opinion but I can vouch for the LG and have no problem in recommending.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...

I asked the same question in thread 'Recommendations for two 22" LCD monitors.

If your read this month's issue of Personal Computer World they did a group test of 22" LCD monitors. The Samsung 226BW won the Editors Award and scored 5 out 5 in every category.

Interestingly that was the monitor which everyone seemed to recommend.

Bit of an odd arrangement if I might say so.

I would suggest the Samsung if you want a decent 22" without breaking the bank too much. My personal preference would be the 20" Dell, as it is the same resolution with a greater range of inputs - I have, however, got used to 1680x1050 on a 15.4" panel, so even 1280x1024 on a 17" seems huge to me.
