    widescreen monitors

im thinking of getting a tft screen, and there are lots of widescreens and normal ratioed ones. whats the advantage of widescreen? apart from watching movies in hd and stuff. like what about game resolutions? and whats a good response time to have on it so i dont get ghosting.

Some games dont support widescreen resolutions, or if u play competitively then some resolutions are banned because you get larger field of vision.
Aside from that, widescreen is the way to go, films take up more of the screen with less black borders for a start. Vista is supposed to work best with widescreen too.

yeah, i think you can but it will either stretch stuff or reduce the viewing size. There is a forum somewhere about widescreen gaming (widescreen gaming forum maybe)

    I've been using 4:3, but I'm considering a widescreen now especially a 22".

I think games are now much more widely supported in 16:10 format so I don't think there's really an issue.

Most games I've found are either not worth playing, or there are third party hacks to force them into widescreen if not natively supported. I got one back in November and cant see myself ever going back to 4:3.
